February 2021:

Serving Spoons President Aster Holman was recently awarded the Peter Chortek Award for Leadership for her volunteering and community service, “Tikkun Olam”, or “repairing the world”. We are so proud of her!

Our Summer 2019 fundraiser was a big success!

Serving Spoons Awards:

President Aster Holman and Vice President Bianca Wong were honored by the school as one of only 7 high school students who were being recognized for outstanding contributions to their community. In addition, the teens were written up in the La Jolla Light about the hard work they have been doing during the Pandemic: 

people-in-your-neighborhood-la-jolla-country-day-students-volunteer-to-provide-meals-to-the-needy

Past President Sofia Gardenswartz and Vice-President Bella Norton were honored to receive the Presidential Volunteer Service Award for their outstanding dedication and work with Serving Spoons.  Sofia received the Gold award, and Bella received the Bronze.

Past President Sofia Gardenswartz won a grant of $500 from Youth Service America in partnership with the Walt Disney Company for her efforts to engage community members in working with Serving Spoons.

Past President Sofia Gardenswartz was recognized as a Stephen J. Brady Stop Hunger Regional Honoree by the Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation.

Past President Sofia Gardenswartz won a grant for $1,800 from the Chortek Family Foundation to support Serving Spoons!

Past President Sofia Gardenswartz received recognition from the Prudential Spirit of Community Award, an award that honors middle and high school students for their outstanding service to others.
